Hello, thanks for visiting my Website.

My name is Paul Price.

From an early age I was influenced by my Father, Peter Lomax Price (hence the name above), who loved to recreate paintings by the Impressionists, especially Van Gogh and Renoir.

I focus on original images, emphasising light and colour, shadow and reflection, with the ultimate goal of "evoking a feeling" of some description. The images I am currently drawn towards reflect the warmth, colour and freedom of different cultures around the world and from capturing ordinary people going about their normal daily business.

My first paintings were inspired by a trip to India towards the end of 2016, notably:

Indian Summer
Market Day
Dandi Beach People
Out and About

Since then I have drawn from visits to France (Springtime), Majorca (Pollenca Old Town), Dubai (Beach Run), Thailand (Elephant Jungle Sanctuary and Thai Sunset) and Crete (Bouganvillea, Doorway and Hasika).

I have carried out many Commissions including requests for images of Holiday Homes in Ireland and Cornwall.

I have also produced a short series of Manchester Street Musicians (Piano Accordionist, Red (Violin)and Redhead(Singer)).

In addition to the above I have also been focusing on people, trying to capture expressions and moods, including:

Contemplation
Tranquility
Reflection
Concentration (Bartender)

In more recent pieces I have attempted to move away from what has been described as Hyperrealism, towards a looser style particularly with Yatch Race and Scorched.

I continue learning and exploring how I can develop my artwork further and enjoy this journey of discovery.
